Biomass Fuel Boiler, biomass heating system, burns biofuel (usually called as biomass fuel). Biofuel is much cheaper than electricity, petroleum oil and natural gas. Biomass boilers are ideal for year-round heating requirement and hot water need. Nowadays biomass fuel is used as an alternative to traditional coal, pet coke, oil and gas fuel. Biomass fuel is a clean and environmentally friendly fuel and will not cause any pollution during its combustion. It is found that biomass fuel boiler offers many economical, social and environmental benefits such as financial net saving, conservation of fossil fuel resources and CO2 and NOx emission reduction.

Biomass fuel is organic material produced in a renewable manner. Biomass fuel generally includes wood which may be in the form of wood log, wood chip or wood pellet. Wood chip and wood pellet can be fed both manually and automatically into the boiler furnace while wood log is generally fed manually into the biomass boiler. Other forms of biomass fuel include animal waste, household and industrial waste, crops such as maize, willow etc.

Biomass Fuel
Biomass Boiler Operation Monitoring and Adjustment

1. Biomass Fuel Boiler operation adjustment task

A. ensures that the evaporation of the biomass pellet boiler is within rated value, which satisfies the needs of the steam turbine.

B. ensure the normal pressure steam, temperature and water level.

C. ensures that the steam quality is qualified.

D. ensures good combustion and improves the biomass boiler efficiency.

E. ensures the safe operation of the biomass steam boiler.

2. Biomass Fuel Boiler water level adjustment

2.1 wash the water level

A. open the blowdown valve, wash the steam pipe, water pipe and glass tube.

B. close the water side valve, wash the steam pipe and glass tube.

C. close the steam side valve, then open the water side valve, wash the water pipe and glass tube.

D. open the steam side valve, close the blowdown valve, examines the water level, the water level should rise very quickly, and fluctuate, if the water level rises slowly, should wash again.

When washing the water level, the operation should be slow, and the body and face should not face the water level gauge, and wear protective gloves.

2.2 The adjustment of the water level

A. The normal water level is at the center line of the water level meter.

B. allowed range of fluctuation is ±30mm.

C. The limit water level is ±50mm.

D. Biomass fuel boiler water supply should be kept slow, not too fast. water level shall be in the central line of the water level gauge, strictly prohibit operation when exceeding the limit water level.

E. under any circumstance, pay attention to the change of the water level and the water level gauge indication: the water level meter is washed and calibrated once every day.

3. Steam pressure and temperature adjustment

A. normal steam pressure, the rated steam pressure is 4.1MPa, allowed fluctuation range of ± 0.05MPa, lower than 5MPa or higher than 4.15MPa should be handled in time, and contact the shift chief-operator and monitor.

B. normal steam temperature is 385 degrees, allowed fluctuations of ±5-10, below 365 or higher than 390 should be handled in time, and contact the shift chief-operator and monitor.

C. during normal operation, steam pressure and temperature can be adjusted within the allowable range according to the turbine need.

D. when the steam temperature changes, adjust the combustion and desuperheating water amount to ensure stable steam temperature. When adjusting the desuperheating water, it should not increase or decrease sharply.

E. to ensure stable steam parameters, biomass fuel boiler and steam turbine check steam pressure and temperature every shift.

4. Adjustment of combustion

4.1 Adjustment of combustion

A. during the normal operation, adjust the coal amount and air volume according to the load change, maintain steam pressure and temperature stable.

B. fuel should be evenly distributed along the width of the grate. It will start burning at the place 0.4m from the front side and burn away 0.5m from the glede iron, so as to ensure no partial fire.

C. when it is running normally, the flame in the combustion chamber should be evenly distributed, and water wall tubes should not be washed away. The flame is golden yellow.

D. adjust the air volume correctly to maintain negative pressure 10-20Pa, oxygen is between 4-6%.

E. prevent coking when adjusting the combustion. If coking is found, handle in time.

F. regularly discharge ash, and the cooling water is unblocked.

G. to increase load, first increase air then increase the fuel, to decrease load, first reduce air then reduce fuel.

H. when it is running normally, the flue gas temperature on both sides should be balanced.

I. strengthen the monitoring of evaporation and keep steam flow stable, steam flow and feed water flow should be consistent.

Biomass Fuel Boiler Operation

5. Biomass Fuel Boiler blowdown

5.1 In order to keep the heating surface clean, avoid priming and steam quality deterioration, the biomass fuel boiler must be blowdown, which can be divided into two kinds.

Continuous blowdown: continuously discharge the biomass fuel boiler water containing maximum salt concentration on the surface.

Intermittent blowdown: the water wall header discharge the precipitate. The blowdown time is generally: not more than half a minute when the discharge valve is fully open, so as not to destroy the water circulation and cause water shortage.

5.2 Before blowdown, check the discharge valve, if normal, adjust drum water level to a higher level, it can be discharged.

5.3 blowdown procedure

First open the primary valve, then open the secondary valve. After the blowdown is finished, shut the secondary valve first, then close the primary valve, and the blowdown should be carried out slowly, so as to prevent water impact. If the blowdown pipe vibrates, stop blowdown, and blowdown can be continued after vibration is eliminated.

5.4 strictly monitor the water level during the blowdown, and it is forbidden to blowdown under any of the following circumstances.

A. There are people working in the blowdown system.

B. When the water level is lower than the normal water level, blowdown is not allowed.

C. during the blowdown process, a biomass fuel boiler accident (except for full water and priming) occurs should stop blowdown immediately.

D. two biomass boilers are not allowed to drain at the same time, and two or more blowdown valves can not be opened at the same time.

5.5 after one hour of blowdown, check the tightness after valve is closed.

6. Operating and maintenance of rotating machinery

The operation of rotating machinery should:

A. no vibration, friction and abnormality, the protective cover is intact, and the anchor screws are strong.

B. each oil leveler and oil level gauge are normal, lubricating grease and lube oil are sufficient, each oil leveler is refueled once a shift.

C. The temperature of bearing is not higher than 80 C, and the cooling water is unblocked.

D. transmission belt is intact, without deviation and falling off.

7. Operating and maintenance of slag conveyor

A. The temperature of motor must not exceed 80 degrees C.

B. cooling water is normal, no red dregs on the belt.

C. it is prohibited to reverse operation.

D. when oil level is lower than normal oil level, add oil.

8. Maintenance of slag belt conveyor

A. roller has no displacement, and the roll is flexible.

B. grate governor box and rotating parts add oil when oil level is low.

C. it is strictly forbidden to have red residue on the belt.

D. motor, grate governor box, bearing temperature is normal.

9. Operating and maintenance of Biomass Fuel Boiler

A. During the operation of the biomass fuel boiler, the equipment should be examined and checked. In addition to the relevant regulations, all the pressured components, the steam water valves, the explosion-proof doors, furnace wall and steel frame should be examined, if any abnormal is found, find out the reasons and solve it.
