Wood chip boiler is one type of biomass boiler. On April 25th, 2018, Taishan Group won a project from a famous sausage factory in Uruguay in South America. The project included one wood chip boiler and one heavy fuel oil boiler. These two steam boilers share the same parameter. And the capacity is 4t/h, the steam pressure is 1.0MPa and the steam temperature is 184℃. When the wood chip boiler is working, the HFO boiler is standby.

Wood Chip Boiler in ASME Standard Exported to South America

Founded in June 1936, the sausage factory has become the most prestigious brand for processed pork and meat. Over the years, several advances were made in the industrialization process, such as the construction of slaughter plant. In 1962, the works of the refrigeration plant began, which will become one of the exemplary installations of the industry in Uruguay.

Background of ASME Standard Wood Chip Boiler

Since Uruguay is in South America, local authorities paid much attention to the safety of pressure vessel. Normally we design and manufacture the steam boilers as per China standard (GB); while the Uruguay government demands that the wood chip boiler and HFO boiler shall meet ASME standard. We have exported many sets of industrial boilers in ASME standard to other countries before, so Taishan has much experience in ASME boilers.

After signing the contract with the customer, we take actions immediately. Our design department start designing the wood chip boiler and HFO boiler according to the detailed component analysis report of both type of fuels as well as the requirement of ASME Section I. After the design is over, the purchasing department start the raw material purchase, including ASME standard steel plate, steel pipe, welding rod, welding flux, etc. At present both the wood chip boiler and HFO boiler are under fabrication, and they are planned to be delivered two months later.
